Loki reincarnates as a good guy. The writing and he art in this book are great. Loki's charm and cleverness really make this book a treat. It's rare to have a story where the good guy is devious.

This is the run that got me back into comics (and into Marvel, as well). It's just about perfect.

A great start to a fantastic run. There is the slight feeling that reading Fear Itself would help out, but most everything you need is in this book. A great concept, and this volume begins the set-up of the strong supporting cast this series boasts.

The book was great, since it's got Loki being...human. He loves Thor and is still up to his old tricks...yet without malice. He reminded me a lot of myself (I have two older brothers I adore) so yes, I was a bit biased, but the writing is snappy and the art is amazing. I love how Thor is drawn here, rather than a mountain of muscles, but more realistic.

Great book. Glad I read it!

More than anything else, this reminds me of the great early days of John Ney Rieber's run on The Books of Magic. A clever and unpredictable and frequently vulnerable protagonist, a true sense of the numinous and the strange, old myths and old fairy tales mingled together, the sense of a great and varied cast, a large and extraordinary universe.

I'm deducting a point because the plotline is sort of choppy -- clearly a lot is going on in other Fear Itself tie-ins--but this really is marvelous.

Full review, including references to but no spoilers for the next volume.
