loved the spooky and gothic vibes but i hate augustine. i understand having him lie to jane and be a bad man, but then don't act like he's supposed to be a good person! i'm getting mixed vibes, like is he evil or is he nice?? you can't have it both ways

A good enough book. Unfortunately the plot lost me about half way through, and I felt it could’ve been cut down a bit.

this had really strong gothic elements, which I enjoyed. sadly I physically could not make myself understand the third act - I have so many questions.
Absolutely loved this one. I wish I'd realized the author also wrote The Luminous Dead, I'd have been even more prepared to like it. Really good, fun, Gothic horror.
I was slightly dissapointed in this book. It was a good gothic novel, but I was hoping for more of a ghost story.
