Nowhere near what I expect from Harlan Coben. The plot is so fanciful and convoluted that believability is stretched thin. As always, the writing is crisp, but this time, the story is not.
I will be very honest here. This book had its moments but it was also very boring at times.
I stopped reading it somewhere at the middle because the plot was jumping from one character to another and it just wasn't doing it for me.
I hated the dialogs.
The "clues" were appearing out of nowhere.
And I couldn't connect with the main character due to her cold personality.
BUT I didn't want to leave the book unfinished so I came back and read it.
I liked the ending and it was actually very enjoyable.
I guess I'm feeling a little confused about this book.

Fool Me Once
This one was a fun rollercoaster ! Enjoyed reading the winding story of Maya and the fallout after both her husband and sister are murdered.
Read this one quickly as the story sucked you in. Maya is a likable and tough character and the author did a good job leading you in different directions.
It was my bookclub read at work and will absolutely be reading another by Harlan Coben.
