Harlan Coben

3.72 AVERAGE

An absolute must read ,spine tingling , page turner thriller book . I have always liked Harlan Coben books but have to say this was his best . The end was amazing and completely unexpected . It was a very fast read and thoroughly enjoyable
dark emotional

Disturbing, but good in so many ways.
challenging emotional sad tense

I just finished "Fool Me Once" by Harlan Coben. A former special-ops pilot, Maya is home from the war. Her husband Joe is killed. This is one of several deaths that go back years in time. It is a well- told tale, and the suspense heightens. You will not expect the ending. It is a very good page turner. - Bob K.

Great book

Kept me entertained enough, but I thought the plot was a little convoluted.
dark mysterious tense medium-paced
Plot or Character Driven: A mix
Strong character development: Complicated
Loveable characters: Complicated
Diverse cast of characters: No
Flaws of characters a main focus: Yes

Coben had me angry from page one. So angry at I actually put the book down after a few pages. The anger came out of the connection he created with the main character from the get go. Coben has tapped into some of the rawest of human emotions this time.
The plot was strung along nicely, with both the expected and unexpected twists. Despite the hype the ending is visible if you are willing to let your mind go to dark places.
Truly, just a shame that I had to reach the end so quickly.
If anything is missing from this volume it is the subtle, and sometimes not so subtle humor, that Coben is capable of. Or it just be that I overlooked it as I focused on the overt commentary on the human condition.
I think maybe I need to go back to some old school Myron and Win.
