Pretty solid Harlan Cobin. Kept me interested!
Really liked tell no one but this ending really didn’t do it for me
The ending was kinda annoying tbh

What a waste of paper and ink! This was a 1* read until the last thirty pages, after which I'd give it 1,5* and round it up to 2*. I thought maybe Harlan Coben could be a new favorite author of mine, but I'm wondering now. I have one more, "Missing You", and if that's the same calibre of this, I'll abandon him.
Maya has just buried her murdered husband. It's the second murder in a short time frame, the first being her sister Claire. Maya has a little toddler and a family nanny she doesn't quite trust, so when she's given a nanny cam disguised as a picture frame, she sets it up. One day she is certain she sees her dead husband Joe on it. Maya, an ex-military with a fringed reputation, starts to dig deeper into Joe's family's secrets.
I didn't like Maya. I didn't like any of the other characters either. I also suspected there would be some unreliable narrator going on. Maya with her PTSD would be a perfect candidate. Ninety percent of this book is boring run-of-the-mill plot-line with cardboard characters, which will add nothing to your life. Steer clear. NOT recommended.

This was quite the pager turner. I thought I knew what was coming, but was only partially right. I love it when a mystery surprises me!

This book had me from the start! With an energetic beginning, Harlan Coben's story about an ex-military pilot who witnessed her husband being murdered only to have him, months later, show up on her nanny cam with their toddler daughter.
This launches this propulsive thriller that had great twists, multiple plot lines and a great main character in Maya Stern. I loved the different sides to her - her no nonsense, tough as nails, bad-ass side, her family side and how she handles the copious amount of emotional baggage she's been carting around.
The only thing I found a bit puzzling was why this book is in a series called Detective Sami Kierce when the detective is a very tertiary character.
This is a fast-paced and engaging page-turner of a thriller full of deep, dark secrets and one hell of a shocking ending. I'm eager to read the upcoming (ten years in the making) sequel and watch the 8-episode series on Netflix soon.
i found the plot was not so compelling but since it was a small book i was able to read it within a day.
The death of protagonist at the end did kind of give justice to the character considering her nightmares and theguilt with which she had to live everyday.

Okay
It didn't blow me away but was a decent murder mystery. It kept my interest and had enough action, twists, and a likable protagonist.
