I heart Harlen Coben because he is SO GOOD AT IT! YOu know what you're gonna get: layered characters, a twisty mystery, a couple of "oh I didn't see THAT!" and some thrills. However, this is still NOT a Bolitar book, either uncle or nephew, so I am deducting one star for that.

Typical Coben thriller. Didn't see the end coming....fooled me for sure. Really enjoy his writing and am so glad there is a new Myron Bolitar book to read!
Listened on Audible! The twists, the connections, the badass FMC! The ending was not what I expected or what I wanted, but I think it was a good ending. I want to watch the show now! The cliffhangers at the end of every chapter had me wanting to keep going to find out more. I def recommend!
This was a fun read - I'm a fan of this author. Very suspenseful; I couldn't have guessed how it would end until the last few pages.
I love me a good crime novel and I thought this was a strong one. I definitely didn't expect the lead to be killed off, I haven't read too many of those, but in a way, it was fitting and even worked.
Harlan Coben kept the suspense the entire book. I tried guessing but still was shocked. Living in Northern NJ he references many places I know which made the book more fun to read. Will definitely read more by him.
Though the writing was just slightly above average and there was some odd phrasing, the twists and turns, especially the final chapters, make it all worth it. The book reads really easily (and a little too fast at times), but the story will seriously mess with your mind. One chapter you might think you know what's going to happen and the very next delivers a new twist that totally flips you upside down. The ending had me tearing up with my jaw on the floor wishing for more. 10/10 would recommend for your next quick thrill.
I read this book because a friend of mine whose opinion I respect recommended it.
I'm glad I did.
But I will say that throughout most of this story I kept thinking, "Something's not right, something's not fitting." as I projected out what I thought would be the outcome. The end was a great twist/not a twist resolution that was in front of you all the time, but you (OK, I) just didn't see because I had already placed certain people/things into a predetermined box of roles and occurrences. I like it when a writer and story make you see some preconceived biases that color your thinking and make you realize that you need to look at things from a wider variety of perspectives.

I’m giving this 3 stars because I didn’t hate it enough to put it down. But it is my first and last Harlan Coben. The writing mediocre, cheesy at times. There were many eye rolls as twists were contrived. The ending was unsatisfactory, and though I didn’t see it coming, that’s because there was nothing to lead me to guess it. Quite the opposite.
