Not my favorite Harlan Coben novel, but it kept me guessing until the end with interesting characters.
What a great book to finish 2023! Wasn’t expecting all those twists. Definitely worth reading.
Sometimes you just need a page-turner to get out of a rut. FMO delivered. Nothing flashy about the prose, but a taut thriller with a believable premise, well written with enough mystery and a few well placed twists makes for a perfect beach/flight read.

It was OK. Which is what 2 stars is supposed to mean. The ending had a nice twist but I wasn't really engaged with the main character for much of the book. A lot of the storyline felt borrowed from earlier books.
Entertaining, but so many little things bugged me about it while I was reading and then the ending and gooey epilogue just about killed it for me.
This was a definite page turner and I finished it in one setting. While it wasn't my favorite Coben book, it is definitely worth the read. There were a lot of twists and turns I didn't see coming.
I really like Harlan Coben and I usually love his books. I struggled with this one though. I liked the overall plotline and I'm probably in the minority when I say that I like how Maya, the protagonist, ended this. Tat being said, I had to give this a 3 star because I absolutely hated Maya. Her decisions annoyed me on a regular basis and I heard her voice in my head and that annoyed me too. On the upside, the fact that I DID hear her voice in my head, it shows how well Coben writes his characters. 😁
This book was a wild ride for sure. Often I can kind of tell what’s the “back story” as I read but i didn’t figure it out in this one.
Maya is a tortured soul, you can see that from the outset. When she begins to question her own sanity and sees her husband on the newly installed nanny cam, the ride really begins. As Maya begins to piece together what happened to her sister and the story surrounding her husband, Joe, you realize Joe was an unsavory character at best. Immediately unlikeable despite his charisma and good looks.
A page turner for sure, the ending wasn’t what I expected at all. Great read!
