Another good stories in this series. I find myself wanting her to focus more on Jo Marie than on her guests, but they do add to the story. Look forward to the next one!
I am loving this series. I love how Debbie writes - she is romantic, but she is a good kind of romantic, not that kind that makes you want to vomit all over the book.
Also, Jo Marie is an endearing character and I would definitely want to meet her in real life because her personality is inspiring.

I received Rose Harbor in Bloom from NetGalley in exchange for a review. Debbie Macomber's books are sweet, easy to read, and they have a peace about them. I enjoyed the first book in the series very much, and I did enjoy reading this as well. It was a simple, uncomplicated story -several stories in one, in fact. I did, however, not love this as much as I have loved other books by this author. It was a bit predictable, and I found that many of the story lines repeated facts and situations again and again; I found it a struggle to actually finish reading it, rather than the normal lost-in-the story I can often achieve. The ending came before I realized it, and it is open ended; I assume this is in order to pave the way for the next installment. Still, the ending felt rushed, despite the fact some of the story lines dragged a bit for me. All in all, it is a simple, light read, and fans of Debbie's books will appreciate it.
No offense to Debbie Macomber, but that is the first and last book of hers I’m going to read. Way too sweet and sappy for me. And the men need to learn some manners - and respect for women. Being unreasonably prickly is actually the opposite of a turn-on, and so is being a teasing, doesn’t-take-no-for-an-answer creep. The theme of this book seemed to be that people who fight are destined to fall in love. Well I can’t imagine many people wanting that kind of relationship, no matter the sweet sides. Love shouldn’t be about beating your head against a wall; it should be about kindness and mutual respect.
Another thing: the constant back-and-forth of emotions described in this book serves to mire the reader in melodrama instead of moving forward with the plot. Definitely not my taste. At least now I know to avoid her books in the future.

My biggest pet peeve in romances, and Macomber does this all the time, is when the man waltzes in with his mansplainy ways and tells the woman that even though she has informed him literally dozens of times that she CANNOT STAND HIM: no, she loves him and they are MEANT TO BE, ET CETERA. Oliver Sutton, go jump in a lake. Ick ick ick.
