I just couldn’t make myself care about what was happening in this book. It was a boring procedural with a supernatural twist. The series has potential but this was a bit of a bore.

Not a bad start to a series, it seems strong on the history and character of London (though I'm not an expert), lots of potential for the theory of Magic, and a bit rough around the edges when it comes to plotting out a detective story. Not entirely unlike a slightly wackier version of the Dresden Files?
