Predictable and overly descriptive, yet still enjoyable for a murder mystery. It did take quite some time for a death to occur in the book, which was disappointing.

I have wanted to read Hart for some time, but when, in addition, this came up with my favorite narrator reading it - I am in. Kate Reading can read almost anything and make it interesting - fortunately she chooses well written books with strong characters and plots. This would be a good read in printed form or listening to it.

When I picked this one up, I didn't realize it was 7th in a series. That didn't seem to matter too much. My biggest issue with this book is that the characters weren't all that likable. I didn't care that the victim died because she wasn't a nice person. If you don't care that they died, then you probably don't care if their murderer gets caught. I sure didn't.

An old-fashioned (but in a good way to me) cozy-ish mystery that is a very quick, entertaining read. I figured out whodunnit, but that didn't matter.

On reread, it's a bit too long, and Hart overuses the mother/stepmother vs. children plot in this series, but I didn't mind. I'm sad to be done with my reread of the entire Henrie O series, which is top notch cozy territory.
