I hadn't expected to like this book so much, but this sure came as a nice surprise. I'm a fan of how Max Monroe's every book always has a different prospects in their romance stories and plots. And even though I've read most of Max Monroe's books they never have once disappointed me. And like their any other books/series, this was also short and an enjoyable read ever different from her other series, this duology is based on the failure in relationship and love and how the characters find their closure through their experience.

I listened to the audiobook which I realised soon was a better choice since this book was written in sort of podcast episodes and letters the protagonist, Lucky, focused on as her unlucky experiences in love and relationships and how she swears herself off of jerks all together only to meet the biggest jerk and eventually falls for him. Even though this book starts off slow and the romance is slow burn at first I was completely engrossed in their story and as the story progresses I found myself liking both Lucky and Ollie more. I loved the plot and story idea of this book and the way this book was based on and written, so differently yet it was what my I loved the most about this book. I didn't like Oliver's character much in this book since there was very less details about him but that changes cause the next book will be from Oliver's perspective which I'm looking forward to and as the story isn't over yet, I'm excited to know what happens next. How Lucky and Olli makes up for their own mistakes and wrong choices that led them to break and how they reunite, cause I sure as hell want them to. Can't wait to read the next book and find out what's gonna happen next.

I dont know shit about podcasts, cuz I never listened to one, but since I am a translator and I have to translate dialogues day in and day out it felt familiar.
More so it reminds me of Sex and the City Carry Brasshaw and the Carry diaries. A sweet insight in her behind the scenes lovelife, putting it all on display. I do have to tell you, I want to see where this ends and how story develops. Probably gonna jump in as soon as I get my hands on the next part.

I always get excited when I hear that a new Max Monroe book is going to be released, so when one hits my kindle, I dive in. While I'm never quite sure what to expect from new characters, I can always be confident that I'll be laughing and swooning no matter what. The Day I Stopped Falling for Jerk was no exception. Lucky is unlucky in love. With a history of dating and falling for men that all lead to a road of disappointment, her last breakup seems like a really amicable one. Fast forward a few days, she discovers that a healthy breakup is actually just another instance of the guy being a jerk. Work winds up taking her to the land of Oz to write about a surfing championship and meeting up with her best friend's brother, Ollie. Clashing from the start, Lucky writes Ollie off as another jerk and the tension builds. Max Monroe are awesome at building up sexual tension between their characters, and try as Lucky might, she's drawn to the newest "jerk" in her life.

I'm really excited for part 2 of the duet. I'm loving Ollie and can't wait to see his "podcasts" after the cliffhanger end of part 1. The inclusion of the first chapter at the end was enough to get me begging for the next book. Thankfully it won't be a long wait.

"Looking back, I think I was doomed from the start when it came to Oliver Arsen. And still, to this day, I wonder if I ever really stood a chance to resist him. I guess I’ll let you all be the judge of that, though…"

The Jerk Duet is fun, flirty, and fresh. The wit and tension with the antagonistic enemies-to-lovers banter mixed with the emotions of the hearts-on-the-line bare all between Lucky and Ollie is wonderfully written. Great humor and I love the story format mixed with the podcast POV! I've found a new author - well authors - I need to add to my TBR list.

*Duet Review*: 4.5 overall stars

I was so intrigued with how this story was set up and it started. This was set up as a script for a podcast and that did throw me for a loop when I opened the book. But, that aside, Max Monroe does a fantastic job of illustrating their characters and what makes them tick... or what Luciana "Lucky" thinks is making Ollie behave the way he is.

Lucky has written men off for the next lifetime and is going to focus on herself and finding happiness without a man causing her heartache... this works well until she meets her best friends brother, Ollie... who just so happens to be the hot surfer she is going to be traveling with for work. Their banter made my life reading this! They were just so quick and really had me laughing.

I cannot wait for book 2 in the duet! I need to know what happens!

4.5 stars!!

Max and Monroe never cease to entertain me! The Day I Stopped Falling for Jerks is a funny, fast paced, swoony, sexy, read with incredible character chemistry and the right amount of "gah! Noooo! What are you doing to me?" emotions. I loved it!!

This is the first time I fell in love with the way a story was being told before anything else. I'm generally a characters girl. I tend to invest in the characters before I can fully invest in the story. With this book, it was almost an instant YES!! because of the way it was written. I LOOOVED that Max Monroe wrote this as Lucky sharing her story in a podcast. My goodness. Such a clever idea. I was like "episode 1? What is this? This is brilliant. I need more. Must read on." It made the story so unique, refreshing and fun.

Of course I also fell in love with the characters. I adore Lucky and Ollie. She is a sassy, funny and so easy to root for. Unlucky in love, I love seeing her take control of her love life and seek closure on her previous terrible relationships. And, Ollie, *heart eyes* He is so different from what I thought he'd be. Yes, maybe at times he could come off as jerk but most of the time I found him to be charming and sweet. I am a full fledged member of the Oliver Arsen fan club.
These two together is magic!! All the bickering, the banter, the growing tension, the "accidental" touches and kisses...*sigh...I could not get enough!!

I CAN.NOT. wait to read book two -The Day the Jerk Started Falling- of this duet, !! I need more Ollie in my life and I'm so ready to get his side of the story.

For the most part when ever Max Monroe has a book releasing I don't even read the blurb, I always know immediately I want to read it. This was the case with The Day I Stopped Falling for Jerks. Went in totally blind and, oh my god, Max Monroe had me at hello.

Lucky is my favorite heroine they've ever written. (Sorry Cassie) She's smart, she's cute and she's extremely relatable in her vulnerability. Because let's face it, almost all of us has fallen for a jerk at least once in our lives. Then there's Ollie. Sigh. The sexy Aussie surfer, Ollie. If you want to know about all his jerky goodness, you have to read the book. he doesn't disappoint.

I've fallen for many book boyfriends over the course of my reading hobby; the biker, the jock, the Alpha, the billionaire. Ollie is my first surfer. And with the cliffy Max Monroe left me with, I need his story now! Right now!

P.S. I'm still waiting on stories for Winnie's brothers, ladies. Fingers crossed.
