About time Valentine grew up a bit! I liked this better than the first. I accidentally read the third book years ago — will have to return to it now.

This book could not capture my attention. I won this book from Goodreads and was excited. I heard a lot of good things about the first story, so I thought I could pick up and run with it. That turned out to not be the case.

The book's pacing felt very slow to me. Also, there were references to the first story, so in continuing to read I felt as though I was missing out on important details. After a while, I put the book down to read something else, and now I find that I just don't connect enough with the characters to find out what happens next. I may give this one another try if I ever read the first story.

It started quite amusingly but started to annoy me early on. Only a few days on and I can't even remember. Never finished it.

Entertaining novel, second in series.

oops, didn't realize this is book 2, but it stands alone well and I enjoyed it.

The story of a crazy italian family that is in each other's business. The main charachter is OK, annoying at times, but her friends and family make up for it. Fun read. Made me LOL, cry and roll my eyes.

Another B&N Serial read that kept me interested enough to come back everyday for a month. This book grabs and holds you. Now I need to read the first in the series. You are on pins and needles wondering what will become of a long distant love story that the author makes you desperate to pursue and to see continue. Great writing. I am usually not a fan of each chapter being another characters point of view when there are so many characters integral to the storyline. This book made you want to know what the other characters were thinking. Heck, I needed to know!!!

Trigiani's sequel to Very Valentine is a sweet second act for shoemaker and designer Valentine Roncalli.
As Valentine takes over the family business, she needs to sort our her feelings for Gianluca and assist friends/family with the difficulties of love and marriage. Trigiani is very good at unfolding a family saga with humour and warmth.

Not a literary masterpiece but an entertaining beach read.

I started this straight after having read the first book and although I still enjoyed it, I downgraded the star rating for this second Valentine book because of who she ends up with - totally shallow I know but I am afraid I just didn't get the attraction... it doesn't matter how many times Trigiani tells me he is handsome, to me a 53 year old man just isn't that appealing to me. Valentine is my age too so it's easy to put myself in her shoes. Since this is a trilogy, hopefully all will be sorted out in the final book. I will most likely read it just to find out.
