This was my first book by Rina Kent and my goodness, it was amazing. I wish I could read it again as if it was the first time. Before I continue, the triggers warning for this book are: dub con, non con, manipulation, suicidal thoughts, and past trauma.

Okay, if you're still here after the triggers let's get into this review.

After seeing the tropes (psychopath + good girl, enemies to lovers, and bully) I knew this would be a great book. This book is full of twists, beautiful darkness, and so much steam. Even if you have read Amo Jones who has some darker romance stories, you will not be fully prepared for triggers and darkness of this book. You will feel so many raw emotions throughout this story that you will feel raw when finished. I'm in a slight book hangover from this story. This story and characters had such a hold on me and I don't even know who I want to read about next because I got attached to all the secondary characters. Glyndon definitely grew into herself and strength with the help of Killian. Killian may lack emotion processing and empathy, but he grows on you with his unapologetic touch her and die attitude.

There's no hero in this story, but Killian will give you butterflies and have you swooning. This relationship was explosive in passion, anger, bullying, and plenty of spice.

Wish they both fell of the cliff in the first chapter tbh

The story and set up bored me to tears and the MMC is too much- literally just a rapist. The FMC is your typical vapid angst pit who repeatedly makes dumb decisions just to advance the plot. DNF.

There were some things I liked about this book but quite a lot that I particularly didn’t care for.

This felt rushed, unbelievable and I don’t really get the relationship between the two main characters.

It’s a bully romance but it wasn’t really about bullying. It was I want you and I’m gonna have you even though Glyndon said NO like 174739 times.

I also felt like the wrong male narrator was picked for the audiobook and he was not a great fit. The narrator made Killian sound so OLD when he’s only supposed to be 19. 😬

I was looking SO forward to this and it was a major let down. I think I hyped myself up too high for this one.

After reading 27 books by Rina Kent this is in the running for my least favorite by her.
