Not the strongest of the series
Several of my friends seriously hated this book, and as i trust and value their opinions I went into this one with low expectations.
Maybe because my expectations were so low, it wasn't as bad as it could have been. It is definitely the weakest of the series.
The inconsistencies of the characters was frustrating, both Ty and Zane ran around like they had never worked a murder case before. Three of the guys are meant to be scary recon marines but didn't act anything like it in this book.
I think more needed to be said about the happenings in the last book. Ty and Zane's relationship was being rebuilt after the bombshells of Ty's confession and yet it was swept under the carpet and forgotten, I think this was a missed plot line that could have been further developed
I did like parts of this book, including Ty's multiple marriage proposals, but ultimately it just wasn't as good as the rest of the series

Update 28.10.17:
A lot of annoying moments, but Ty and Zane are so good together. The ending was beautiful. Loved it the first time, love it now. 5 stars just for proposals.

3 stars (maybe 3.5...)
This was a weird book, especially having only 1 book left in the series. Did I enjoy it? Yes, of course, but there were a few plot holes.
1. Deployment/Arrival- After that bombshell ending in the last book, this one starts out with the boys returning home. Umm, okay. That's it? They get shipped off immediately after discovering there's a mole and with Ty and Zane trying to mend their almost broken relationship. Then they come home. Huge disappointment on this.

2. Nick and Kelly. Love you guys but you have your own series!

3. Richard Burns- Umm, what? Uhhh...I don't even know what to say about that whole thing. I'm hoping more will be explained in the next book.

There were a few smaller things that just didn't mesh *ahem, Maid of Honor* but they were inconsequential to me for the most part.
That being said, I still enjoyed the book. I love Ty & Zane and they had a few really good moments. Swoon worthy moments, fan myself moments and plenty of laughter too. I hate to see the series end.

The mystery was SO much better than all the other books in the series. Phew!
I know there's been a lot of controversy over this book, but honestly, I loved it. I thought it was well written, and the conflict between Nick and Ty was very real and ripped my heart to shreds. Nick absolutely had to be in this book, and Kelly with him. I honestly wasn't a huge fan of Nick before- I liked him, but was kind of indifferent- but I may now be in love with him. I also loved Zane (no big shock there, since he's my favorite). His character growth is phenomenal, and the fact that he's comfortable enough with his life and his relationship with Ty to say "no" not once, but over and over again, was amazing. Ty and Zane together were adorable. Finally, I loved the mystery/suspense aspect of it. I'm not a huge fan of pure romance- I want my romance with a side of suspense, something to move the plot along and force the characters to develop. That includes friends and family, because no one exists in a vacuum. So I loved this book, and I cannot WAIT to read the next one (and Cross & Crown, for that matter). My only lingering wants were to see Ty have a conversation with Burns now that he knows (or more insight into Burns period, I think), and to know why none of the Grady men (surely all those Grady kids had fathers running around the island somewhere) were suspects, or in the lineup at the end.
Another great one. Don't want just one more. :( Drug stuff was stupid, but overall was good and lots of twists that kept me wondering.
I’M LITERALLY CRYING AT TY’S FINAL PROPOSAL AND ZANE’S THOUGHTS OF BEING IN LOVE WITH HIM. Their future together??? YES!!!
Ty and Zane I am LITERALLY the third wheel in your relationship.
Also Nick and Kelly.... cute cute cute.
