After Katherine is in an accident resulting in a concussion, she wakes up in the hospital to learn that not only does she need to be monitored for 48 hours, but she forgot to remove her ex-husband, Tom, as her emergency contact. Now she and Tom are on their way to celebrate Christmas Eve in Chicago so Tom can propose to his new girlfriend.

Katherine was such an unlikable character, and yet I was quickly rooting for her and Tom to make it to Chicago and figure out their relationship. It was such a fun read.

Thanks to netgalley and the publisher for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Short quick and cute I highly recommend this one. The dual POV was perfect and the narrators are two I would love to hear more from.

Super cute! 4.5 stars for all the smiles and laughs!

What I liked:
✈️ The ex-spouses’ banter was top notch! It was hilarious, relatable, and definitely showed all the chemistry that brought this couple together in the first place.

✈️ I loved watching the female grinch have sentiment only for the boy scout, and the perfect planner go completely off course for the crazy trainwreck. These two were perfect together.

✈️ I loved all the Planes, Trains, and Automobiles feels to this book. One thing after another kept stalling them on their journey back home, and it was glorious! I also appreciated the reference to the film and the thought of, which one of them is really John Candy?

✈️ It was a quick and hilarious read. I laughed out loud at several points in the book and smiled at even more. Overall, a nice clean romance, which you will likely never see me write again without an eyeroll behind it or excessive italicization.

✈️ Finally, I love that this was written by an actual couple. You could feel the passion and relatability to both loving someone so much you can’t stand it and simultaneously wanting to hit them over the head with a comically large frying pan.

What could have been better:
✈️ I didn’t love that he had a girlfriend that he was planning to propose to the whole time, but I did appreciate that nothing happened between the characters until he had broke things off with her.

PERFECTION!!! Thank you NetGalley and Blackstone Publishing for granting me access to this book in exchange for an honest review.

OH MY CHRISTMAS STARS🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟!!! WHAT AN EMOTIONAL, MEANINGFUL, POWERFUL, COMPLICATED, HEARTWARMING, WHOLESOME, IMMERSIVE, HUMOROUS, ADORABLE AND BEAUTIFULLY WRITTEN HOLIDAY ROM-COM THAT WILL TUG AT YOUR HEARTSTRINGS!! I FOUND MYSELF SWOONING, CRYING OR LAUGHING CONSTANTLY!! THE AUTHOR HAS CREATED SUCH A TOUCHING SECOND CHANCE ROMANCE WITH SO MUCH DEPTH AND CHARACTERS WITH REAL LIFE STRUGGLES AND RAW EMOTIONS. I ABSOLUTELY LOVED AND ADORED IT SO MUCH!! HANDS DOWN ONE OF MY FAVORITE CHRISTMAS BOOKS EVER🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️!!!

Katherine, an aspiring NYC attorney, hopes to become a partner at the firm she has been at for ten years. Two days before Christmas, Katherine is in an accident which leads to the hospital notifying her emergency contact. Regrettably, she forgot to update that information on her paperwork. When her ex-husband, Tom, shows up at the hospital he is informed that she cannot be left alone due to her concussion and medical treatment needed. Tom needs to go home to his family in Chicago for the holidays and reluctantly agrees to take Katherine with him. Because of a blizzard they find themselves on an adventure of a lifetime!

Everything seemed to go wrong almost like fate was intervening. As the story unraveled, I found myself extremely invested in Katherine and Tom's adventures from planes, trains, cabs, Uber and a big rig truck! The more time they spent together the old feeling resurfaced and the "spark' was evident. All the angst, tension, banter and chemistry was top notch. Not to mention, the grand gesture was just perfect!! This is a clean romance (only kissing) and I did not miss the spice🤭.

Overall, I was incredibly hooked from start to finish! I cannot encourage you enough to add this one to your Christmas TBR!!! It deserves a million stars!!!! 🩵🩵🩵🩵🩵☃️☃️☃️☃️☃️❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️
