Sometimes you just have to let a story transport you into a whole new world and feel all the feels and not critique little things…that is exactly what I did with this rom-com wonderfully written by a wife and husband duo. The planes, trains and automobiles Christmastime second-chance romance between Katherine and Tom was just too sweet, charismatic and chaotic I could not help but smile and laugh. The banter between the two was perfection for the predicaments that they got into. Five stars to the narrators (Brianna Cohen & Tim Paige) of this audiobook-they did a fantastic job!
And what’s not to love about the cover?! It features some of the different modes of transportation and is complete lovey-dovey color scheme.
Thank you to Net Galley and Blackstone Publishing-Audiobooks for the copy in exchange for my honest review.

A perfect book for those who like second chances and want the happily ever after. This is a fun version of the movie Planes, Trains, and Automobiles, and quite an enjoyable Christmas book.

I like a relationship with substance, and this one hit the mark. Enough time had passed since the divorce that they were able to have some great conversations, understand the other’s perspective, and reopen their hearts.

I listened to the audio book and the narrators are pretty good. It was easy to differentiate who was speaking and they brought just the right spark to their role.

Thanks to NetGalley and Blackstone Publishing for the opportunity to read and review this book prior to publication.

Imagine if Planes, Trains and Automobiles were a romcom- That's what this book is, and it's just such a darn delight. It had feels, it had humors, and it was a heaping helping of travel (mis)adventures overlaid with a love story.

Even though this novel is set at Christmas, Emergency Contact can (and should) be read all year round. I want to be friends with Katherine and Tom, the novel’s protagonists, and was sad to say goodbye to them when I finished this title. Add this title to your shelf if you like stories of misadventure or second-chance romances.

This was a fantastic book. The angst pulls at your heartstrings and is a true tearjerker. I loved the characters and how they relearned what they love and missed about each other. There were a lot of funny (and some corny) moments that added levity to a heavy relationship.

It is fast paced and takes place over just a couple days, but you can clearly feel the emotions and connection that the characters had. I wish Tom wasn’t going to propose and was just meeting his gf at his house, would’ve been a little more realistic but I get why it had to be a proposal for the plot.

I listened on audio and the narrators were also fantastic. If you like other Lauren Layne books you’ll likely enjoy this one.

I really enjoyed this story. I loved it. Although I wish I could see more of Katherine apologizing to Tom for prioritizing her work over him.
