City of Mirth and Malice Picks up right after a House of Bane and Blood. This book had a lot more political intrigue then the first one but I really enjoyed it!

Nico and camilla are my favorite, he definitely has I’ll burn the world down for you energy. This was a great ending to the duology and I’m excited to read more from this world!

“Your laugh is a song of victory, proving you faced their worst and not only survived, but came out with joy still in your heart. And that fucking smile, not to mention your eyes—the light still shining in your eyes—they are beacons to me, guiding me to my true home as they have since the first time I caught a glimpse of them.”

I liked this a lot. It ended nicely and I know it’s the conclusion of this series but I would love to have more, as the author left hints of future ideas. Really neat industrial mafia families/peaky blinders fantasy.

I really looked forward to this but found it a bit lacking. The chemistry between the characters wasn’t as well executed as the first book and it took me ages to finish. Somehow a lot going on while feeling very slow
