Capricorn Conjured is the second book in the twelve-part Zodiac Guardians series by Tamar Sloan and Tricia Barr.

After his parents died in a terrible fire, Jareth decides to isolate himself from the world. But when he meets Veronica, all this changes. She doesn't allow him to isolate and this makes Jareth begin to wonder if he can ever let someone get close to him again. Jareth is very busy with his self-development and when he meets Brielle and Tristan at school they manage to confuse him again with a story about aliens. Brielle and Tristan are convinced that Jareth is the next zodiac heir, and in order to defeat Chardis, they must convince Jareth. Will they manage to convince Jareth? What discoveries will await?

Capricorn Conjured is the sequel to Libra Ascending . This is a series where the books should definitely be read in sequence in order to understand the story. For me it had been a while since I read the first part and because of this I really had to come back into the story for a while.

Although the title already gives away a large part of the story, the question is always what the zodiac heirs will encounter during the story. Where in Libra Ascending the fight against Chardis already comes to the fore, this is much less present in this part.

Jareth is very private and finds it difficult to admit people, and this makes him suspicious of everyone. The fact that he confides in Veronica is already something for him, and it is very difficult to get along well with Brielle and Tristan. However, Brielle and Tristan are very passionate about revealing his true identity as an heir, which sometimes made it seem a little pushy. However, in addition to this search for true identities, there is also a lot of adventure present in Capricorn Conjured.

In this part, the different characters from whom the story was written are each going through a major development, and I'm very curious what this will mean for the next parts. The story ends with a cliffhanger so I can't wait to start in the third part Leo Rising.
