Read this in a week, so think that says it all! Was a great read, was very interesting to read and you really start to love the characters. Only issue was now and then you feel angry at the choices the characters make but that's part of the story.

Amazing book, would definitely recommend!

I LOVED this book! After reading a book I really didn’t enjoy I picked this up on a whim and I’m so glad I did. I have often struggled with friendships falling apart due to people just going in different directions and it was so comforting to read something like Olive. I love Olive so so much and, even though I do want children in the future, I feel like I can really resonate with her

To begin with I was a bit disappointed that she got into a relationship in the end? I think at that point I thought it was all about being independent and that being okay? But now i realise that it happened when Olive least expected i’d and the idea is that we all reach stages of our lives and THAT is what matters as long as it’s what the person wants.

I would have loved a little bit more about Olive’s relationship with the kids, especially Caitlin. I feel like her eating disorder was glossed over a little bit and I feel like with such a big topic like that it’s not something you can gloss over? But I understand the reasons why!!

An unexpected gem! A thoughtful, honest and nuanced exploration of societal expectations regarding having children, and the impact a young woman's decision to be child-free has on her identity, wellbeing, friendships and relationships. I wasn't a fan of the narrative leaps back and forth in time, but otherwise really enjoyed this and think it would be an excellent book club choice.

This is a story of women and friendship.  Olive is looking at her life through the lens of her friends' lives and how their relationships have changed since they shared a house during their university years.  All of her friends are married while she is in the midst of a major breakup.  Olive has to find her own path to happiness while trying to maintain her friendship with her three best friends.  Each of the women in this friend group are incredibly selfish and self-centered.  This is the driving force for the plot and leads to an interesting conclusion.
