I could not vibe with this book. It felt like a From Blood And Ash bootleg. Like they got the cliffnotes from that book and padded the dialog with stereotypical lines.
The FMC was all over the place which I guess was to convey that she was mixed up on her feelings but also, it felt just like there wasn’t continuity in the writing. We never understood why she felt a certain way. It felt like she was mad just to be mad and horny because it was time for a sex scene. Because of this the jumps during conversations were jarring.
The consent was dubious at best which gave me the ick.
I think what makes this a special edition was the illustrations which looked great. I love book art. So if you like the book, you’ll love the illustrations. But this series is a no for me dog.

Someone told me that this is a Wish version of From Blood & Ash lol - but I still enjoyed the differences in the series. The star marks, the magic, and the defiance of the FMC. I loved the library scene with the book spine!

Definitely a rip off of some more popular books but like I read it super fast so it wasn’t god awful. I wish that the characters weren’t literally strangers the whole book and actually got to know each other a little bit

at least it was short and i read it fast, kinda wanted the sm*t and i did get it but at what cost? because i didn't like it, i didn't mind the main character but the rest? meh the plot at potential but the rest felt so flat i can't even explain, not sure im going to continue with the series and im sad i didn't really like it i was excited for it and the quotes were something but reading the book itself the quotes felt so flat and happened too fast soo yeah i didn't feel anything the plot again had potential and i liked it but not enough i guess
