My problem with this book is that most things fall into Tella's lap. The most egregious example in my eyes is when
Jacks gives Tella and Legend the magic map that shows them the library. We, as readers, had not heard anything about the map until that moment.
In the end it just seemed like none of the main character's plans worked out which made it seem like they did nothing all book. I liked
the love triangle with Tella/Legend/Jacks but it got tiresome after a while. On the flip side, I hated the love triangle with Scarlett/Julien/the Count. I get that it was supposed to be Scarlett exploring her options, but I don't think that is always needed. Especially when Scarlett suggested a contest that cost her most of her autonomy since she would marry whoever could court her better. (Scarlett is an emotional character and this contest really removed her emotions from the equation).
I liked that
the sisters got a happy ending. I am a sucker for those endings which makes me want to forgive the rest of the book's problems.
Yet, I would not reread this book or Legendary. I would reread Caraval because it seems like a completely different story than the rest of the series. I may have come in with unrealistic expectations for the series because I read Once Upon a Broken Heart first which I thought did the Fates plot better.

Solod conclusiom, very satisfied with it! I almost expected More, somehow, especially after how amazing the first book was and how the finale feels almost anti-climactic at the end, but I think it's done really well regardless, it felt like a natural course for the story, and I think it's a satisfying end! Very curious about how
the empire is going to run with Scarlett in charge when she's never seemed the type to want or thrive in leadership and wasn't ever raised or prepared to take the throne, and what exactly happens to all the Fates that just disappear (like Jacks, who does not strike me as the type to simply allow Tella and Legend to be in love after all that work he put in),
but such is life I suppose! Solid end to a solid series!

it was i guess a great ending. there were parts that were boring to me and i don’t really like when there are several pov’s but this wasn’t that bad. also i would like to thank to the author for not killing any of the main characters. like seriously i was so worried jsjsks. also i liked the happy ending i really needed that. and i rly wanted jacks not to be a villain by the end of the book :(( but i guess i liked it anyways

This third and last book of the trilogy is the best one. The plot is very rich, the story is GREAT. A lot of the stories revealed were unexpected and beautiful. I LOVED it, absolutely loved it. And the ending is so... I don't know what word would describe it really. I just know I teared up for both of the girls' endings. So beautiful.

An excellent conclusion to this dreamy trilogy. It's so rare to feel this satisfied at the end of a series. I'm SO EXCITED for Jacks' upcoming book, AH!

Finale ends the Caraval series in a way that is satisfying, engaging and unpredictable. Deviating from the structure of the previous novels Finale is not set inside one of Legend's famous Caraval games, but rather in the city of Valenda in the aftermath of the events of Legendary. Once again we get a shift in the narrative structure, but now the chapters switch between Scarlett and Donatella, with no particular pattern that can be discerned. It's clear as the story progresses why this narrative structure was chosen, but after the whirlwind romance of Legendary I was a bit disappointed to go back to Scarlett's perspective. Ultimately my opinion changes as Scarlett's character certainly takes on a more active role in the events of this novel.

Throughout the series it was apparent that Garber paid close attention to her plot lines and does not leave a clue without the intent to tie that piece of the story up neatly at some point later on. She left enough clues that the mystery was solvable, but it wasn't so obvious that you are not surprised by the reveals and twists and turns of the plot. Additionally, something that really shines throughout the entire series is the romantic relationships between all the characters. I personally don't love a romantic love triangle. I prefer a cut and dry relationship with it's own challenges along the way that don't necessarily involve another person, but I found myself really enjoying the complex relationship between
Tella, Legend and Jacks
. I wasn't sure who I was rooting for in the end and honestly that really surprised me, because I'm usually quite opinionated when it comes to things like that.

Overall I think that this series had a rough start as far as my personal taste, but the ending is so strong and enchanting that I have to recommend it.
