Book 8 in this series is more suspenseful than the others. Hawk, a ranch hand that accompanies the cattle drive is front and center as the "new" hand. He has some trouble with Cam, another hand and knows he needs to be on the lookout. Enter Dee, Emma's friend from her past(we met her when we met Emma) who comes on the drive to help out Bernard with the 9 grandchildren in the family RV. She is teaching and entertaining them while traveling. Hawk recognizes her and their attraction is strong. Without giving too much away, there is some much dissension between the Cam and the hands as well as Miranda being overly protective and worried about the kids on the RV. Should she be? Will the cattle make it to their destination? A trip with the Carsons is bound to make any reader smile and enjoy their escape into ranch life and the huge, very close family this group is.
Emily Zinski is a new narrator to me and did a wonderful job with the portrayal of this story.
