I have to admit I had some trepidation when starting this. I've never read any of the Hot Jocks books, and I'm usually not a fan of shorter stories. However, I've loved all the Kendall Ryan books I've read so far, so I decided to give this a try. So glad I did. I loved it. It opens with Becca and Owen, a couple from one of the previous books, who now have three kids and another on the way. They are struggling with where they are in life and on the precipice of change with Owen in his career and Becca pregnant. I loved this glimpse into a couple already in love and well into their life together. And her writing captures beautifully the struggle you have with the sometimes messy, tiring and almost too ridiculous to be real moments you can have in your every day life raising kids. It takes serious talent to convey personalities and emotions in such a short story and she does it so well here! It didn't matter that I hadn't read any of the prior books, I was able to follow right along with no confusion at all, and now I can't wait to go back read all of their stories.

I also very much enjoyed Preston's short story - it's original in that the typical roles are a bit reversed with Preston very much wanting a serious relationship with Essie, and Essie wanting to just keep things casual. Reading about how they come together and resolve things was a treat.

I received an Advance Reader Copy and have voluntarily left and honest review.

The reader fell in love with all of the characters in this series with their first storylines and this novella is just the icing on the cake. Owen and Becca and their small army of offspring and Preston and Essie's new beginnings is at times hilarious and at others is heartwarming. Watching the families grow and seeing the couples work through their issues was a joy to read. Loved them the first time and just love them even more with the next installment.

I loved this look into Becca & Owen’s lives. They are still my favorite couple. We also gets Preston’s story. Essie had been thru a lot. They were hot! ❤️ we also got more bonus scenes. I love when we get to go back and visit couples.
