I love that malorie is writing in a world that has been and is so real. It makes the punches even harder as we go into the dark world of gangs and drugs. Tobey is clearly a flawed character, and at times the self hatred and destruction that fuel many of his actions become frustrating, but one thing Malorie has done throughout this series is write real characters, not just the ones we want that know what to say and do and feel just enough but not too much. This series has challenged me in so many ways and I’m glad to say it didn’t fail to do so yet again in this book. I must admit that I’m now half way through the final book and I’m excited for the series to come to an end, I’ll probably go back to my romance novels with easy characters and stories for a while, but I won’t forget Callum, Callies, Tobeys or anyone else’s story any time soon. I can’t wait to find out what the rest of this world holds and when I leave it I wish all the characters that I now hold so close to my heart the very best.

I loved Blackmans writing and ideas but I literally could not enjoy Tobeys perspective the whole time I was wishing for the originality characters to be more in it, overall binged the series, really enjoyed but this book was probably my least fave.

i REALLY dislike tobey as a narrator and wish the series ended at book 3 tbh :(

this series has been incredibly quick to get through so far, but this one felt so unnecessary and devoid of everything the first three books (specifically sephy) brought in terms of storyline.

not in a rush to buy the last few books ngl, but i do hope there’s more of sephy to come

Best book out of the whole series. I actually enjoyed reading this one and didn't constantly check how many pages were left.

The plot was fast-paced and made sense, for once, though I still have the same complaints as I had for the last 3 books: grammar, conjugation, characterization, and world-building all left to be desired.

Overall, I would not recommend this series. The premise was really interesting but the books did not deliver.

Although a different view of the life in this noughts and crosses universe, I was exhausted reading about yet another unhinged/unlikeable man pitched as the "hero" of the story. I didn't like the way the women are portrayed, and the mindless violence they have to face. I can only hope that the rest of the series corrects this mistake.
