The story about how midgets used to live in especially designed “villages” where they were exhibited to the public and what this way of life meant to them told through the (love)story of Lemmy and Rosa. It wasn’t a bad story but it just didn’t grip me. Maybe because it’s a short story, not allowing the reader to develop a bond with the main characters. On the other hand I’m glad it wasn’t longer!

Een prettige schrijfstijl, maar het verhaal zelf wisselde voor mij te veel met de tegenwoordige en verleden tijd. Hierdoor was het moeilijk om te bepalen waar je in het tijdsframe zit en raak je de draad kwijt. Een interessant feit uit het boek is dat er nog 1980 een miniatuurstad heeft bestaan. Het verhaal van Lemmy en Rosa had van mij part meer uitgediept mogen worden, zodat je je er meer in kan inleven. Maar dit zal waarschijnlijk niet mogelijk zijn geweest, omdat het onder de boekenweekgeschenken viel.

Het is een prima boek ter afwisseling, want tot dusver ben ik weinig boeken tegen gekomen over dwerggroei en verhalen vanuit hun perspectief.
