This is so not what I expected.
You hear that this belong in dark romance and involves a billionaire, then I thought the cheesy thing would write its self.
SO happy I was wrong because the big business and Russia family drama was next level. I did not see a single thing coming. I would live to spoil it for everyone but won’t, y’all should just read it yourselves.
Need more convincing? The story is as good as the s*x, and it’s not that dark.
Ava Chun’s brother Josh as left for the year, and left his best friend Alex in charge of watching Ava. Now read the book.
And the way it ended? Of course I’m jumping into the next book.

“You don’t have to work overtime to get people to love you, Ava. Love isn’t earned, it’s given.”

Did not like young leads. Too old for that shit

LISTEN YALL, IM SORRY OK. anyways, this book was so wattpad coded, i just cant. the plot died after page 100 and after that i could not tell you a single thing that happened. but to be fair, i knew this would be the case and read it anyway so this is 100% my fault.

Alex Volkov is an arrogant devil, a cold and calculated man with one motivation in life: revenge. His parents and sister were murdered when he was a child and from that point he didn’t have much of a childhood.
Alex is also a bloody genius. Like a hot genius who put his brain at work to make millions and who doesn’t lack social skills. So, the full package. - swoon-

Ava Chen is a wholesome person and a free spirit. She sees the best in everyone. Despite having so much trauma she could take a day off sometimes and no one would blame her. Her brain blocked off some of her childhood memories because of the intense trauma she suffered. Her mother passed away, her father was always closer with her brother.

When Ava’s brother goes to South America for his medical training, he asks his best friend, Alex, to keep an eye on Ava. They are the definition of opposites attract. Not necessarily a -enemies to lovers- in the strictest sense, but the angst is there.

I struggled to finish this book, which was recommended to me by a coworker.

It reads like a poorly written, self-insert 50 Shades of Grey fanfic that is missing a beta read.

Alex, the love interest, is a possessive, controlling, abusive creep and a terrible one-dimensional character whose only consistent trait is owning a credit card. Meanwhile, the protagonist, Ava, is constantly being demeaned and lacks any true strength or self-awareness.

It’s extremely cliché, predictable, overdramatic, no actually climax is provided, lazily written (cutting corners instead of building an actual plot), and the smut scenes were forgettable.

This book fit it's title well. The number of twists we had in this book was good. I felt like Alex and Ava were a great pair. The way they started and how each was able to bring out aspects of the other was wonderful to read about.
