Alright, so this ok was good but it didn't impress me.

There's a recurring theme of Percy Jackson having friends whom he thinks are weak or has to defend, turning out to be someone else. And there's always someone from Percy's mortal life, who's always against him e.g step father or school bully.

Maybe it's because it's an older edition but there were lots of errors and spelling issues. One thing I disliked in this story was Percy keeping some important information to himself for reasons like "they might think I'm crazy" like dude you're a half blood, and living in a world where Greek gods exist, anything is possible.

The characters in this are too trusting like after everything they've been through previously, you would think they will become wiser. It's so  frustrating, and very infuriating. Also, the plot amour for Percy is just so-- annoying, like he gets into trouble but there is no repercussion for his actions.

Also I don't think it's realistic that
Kronos is awakening yet none of the gods are taking action, do they not watch and observe the happenings?

It ran on the same formula that the author used to write the first book which I liked so much, but thats the problem: it felt too familiar already, and just like the other book I could see the plot twist coming from a mile away. There was also a bit of fatphobia in one sentence, which I didn't appreciate.

Would I recommend? Yes. Was it exceptional? No. Will I read the other books in the series? Probably.

Not much I can add that others haven't said. It was a book I liked as a stand alone but as I am re reading the series I remembered this one is my least favorite of the five. So, its ok. Does it do a ton to move the story forward? No. But there are a few key things that could have been added to the next book or the first one and this one didn't need to exist.
