My first book by this author and I really enjoyed it. The blurb really intrigued me and I couldn’t wait to read it. Once I started reading, I couldn’t put it down.

This interconnected series follows four brothers, each brother getting their own book and romance whilst the underlying plot evolves. This book follows Ryder Saint.

Ryder was originally set up to marry Amara, the younger sister of his best friend, Grayson. But this agreement was broken, and Amara was sent away. Ryder believed that the greatest way to protect Amara was to allow her to be taken away, but Amara was heartbroken by this. While away, Amara’s brother was killed, leaving Amara even more devastated. Amara subsequently strengthened her defenses in an effort to shield herself from harm going forward. Four years after leaving, Ryder re-enters Amara’s life, demanding she come back home with him. Even though she is hesitant, she follows Ryder when he demands that she return home because she sees it as an opportunity to learn what happened to her brother.

Ryder and Amara had excellent chemistry, and I loved how their characters evolved and how the plot progressed. Ryder made me want to hit him several times during the books, but in the end I grew to adore him. He truly is the alpha male. I really adored Amara, and I understood why she had walls up and didn't want to be vulnerable with Ryder. But she gradually gave herself permission to feel and be vulnerable with him once more. This novel contained a ton of secrets, and more continued being revealed right up to the very end. Although they had a very dark romance, Ryder's tender side was revealed in their HEA, which made me swoon. The side characters were great as well, especially Cole. I can’t wait to read his book.
