A really enjoyable read, with a few good red herrings along the way and very interesting main characters.

Both Alice and Iris are well rounded and believable, and in general they are interesting people to be around. A really good read for fans of Karen McManus.

I really enjoyed this book.  The characters are interesting.  The book is set in Castle Cove, California which is full of the very rich.  Of course, every community has citizens who are struggling to get by.  The story is of the friendship that begins between one of the rich high school students and her tutor who is from the same school.  Alice Ogilve's is obsessed with Agatha Christie.  When a student is murdered, she gets her tutor, Iris Adams, to help her solve the crime.  Both girls are dealing with trauma as well as the normal high school issues.  The case was interesting.  Their approach was fun to read.  I would recommend this book and will be reading the next in the series.

Who killed Brooke Donovan? I enjoyed this YA mystery with Agatha Christie quotes and references throughout. Thought it seemed childish in parts, but then again, I was pre-reading it for my child. Pros for me: It moved along quickly, i liked the two main characters, it had a good little plot twist, and it was a fun, summer type of book. Cons for me: lots of religious exclamations and profanities, minors depicted using drugs and drinking, and lots of sexual content, although none of it was graphically described. It's advertised for ages 12-18, but I'd save it for an older teen, probably 16+

I love that this character is as into Agatha Christie as I am! It was a good story with twists and turns and strong character development.

Cute little mystery, definitely felt childish at times but, this is YA so... can’t complain, haha.
I loved all the Agatha Christie references and quotes.

Started off strong, but then the characters starting breaking laws to gather evidence, and then a few things towards the end seemed a bit too deus ex machina to be truly satisfying. Full review to come.
