I really enjoyed this book! I'm working my way through Agatha Christie's work so this was extra fun. I didn't figure out the who-dun-it until later in the book, which is always a plus. I appreciate the domestic abuse part of the book as well. It added another layer to the book as did Alice's disappearance mystery. I also loved most of the characters. I really hope that there's a sequel, as the ending seemed open to that!

If you are okay with skipping over cliches, stereotypes and an insufferable teen then this book is a true ROMP. I’ll be honest that I’m likely the minority when it comes to disliking the above things despite being a regular YA reader (I know, make it make sense) so if you LOVE those things then this is the book for you. Once I surpassed my initial annoyance I actually really enjoyed this book. The cover art is so gripping and the  story matches that energy! Teen detectives are always trying doing the MOST when it comes to justice for the people (#defundthepolice) but are their young and malleable brains the ones for the job? Despite this, The Agatha’s featured unlikely allies & female friendship, literary references to boot, and a layered mystery that truly shocked me. I can’t say it’s my favourite YA book but I gladly finished it and now I need to watch Nancy Drew (2007) and read any Agatha Christie book I can get my a hands on!
