what a sweet and steamy read!
I’m just going to say this is a different side of Laura Lee than I’m used to, but that’s the thing about a great writer, just when you think you know them you read something else and your mind is blown.
This is a sweet but steamy story about two best friends who become so much more. There’s a little angst but there’s enough of the good stuff to make it worth it.
This is the first book with this group I’d characters and I can’t wait to see what she does next. Go grab this one, it’s got all the good things and you won’t regret it!

Another new adult book with the recurring friends to lovers theme that seems so popular lately. I found Deal Breakers to be both predictable and sweet in that Must Read way.
From the moment he first saw Devyn, Riley could not take his eyes off of her. He knew there was something special about this hot blond that he just had to get to the bottom off. Unfortunately for Riley, he was friend-lined from day one. Devyn wasn't looking for a relationship of any sort, romantic or physical. However, everyone could use a new friend. For four years Devyn and Riley were inseparable. Now, finally graduating and getting ready to take the world by storm, Devyn decides there is just one last thing she has to do... she needs to lose her virginity. And of course who better to do it than her man-whore of a best friend, Riley. One night was all it took to change everything.
I have to admit that once I began reading Deal Breakers I just could not seem to put it down. Although the story line was predictable, the characters were engaging and at times made me laugh. I only wish we had gotten a chance to get to know the characters a bit more than one chapter to represent each year they had known each other. That one thing aside, I was rooting for Riley when he finally got his head out of his you know what and decided to go after the one woman he never forgot.
I would definitely recommend this to others. I've never read this author before however, if this is any indication of this author's overall storytelling capabilities and writing, I look forward to other books by her.

The pacing was horrible it covered 10 years and 5 of them were missed in a time jump.
Some if the worst dialog I have ever read and the sex scenes made me cringe.
Buuuuuut this is the first book I picked up in 3 weeks, so the the slow moving trainwreck of a book sis manage to capture some part of my attention so, yay?

5 Balls to the Wall Stars!
Wow. What a fantastic book. I was hooked from the very first page. Fun characters and a storyline that didn't drag. I absolutely loved reading this book. The chemistry between the characters and the writing style were both amazing. Lots of quirky, funny moments and just an all-round fun, light-hearted and easy read.
I definitely recommend this one!!
Devyn met Riley her freshman year at college, their friendship was immediate. Riley has always been attracted to Devyn and there are times when he feels the feelings are mutual. However, Riley plays the field, he is not looking for anything other than fun and Devyn is not that type of girl. When Devyn asks Riley for a favor after they graduate, Riley is blown away with what it is. A one night, no strings attached moment where he takes her virginity.
Five years later, Riley bumps into Devyn and she has been keeping a secret. Past regrets show up and Riley realizes Devyn is his one. Can he get Devyn to trust him again?
Wonderful read. Riley freaked on Devyn, he hurt her deeply. When he sees her again he questions what he did and how to get her back. Devyn never stopped loving Riley, but has he really changed? I liked the mention of Blazers, UofO, etc big fan so it always gives me warm fuzzies when a story has a personal tie to home.

Super predictable but still totally readable! Steam was lovely, written so well, wish there was a tad more of it with those skills
2.5 stars. This was a fairly standard NA friends to lovers story. It has the requisite man-whore and his best friend the innocent virgin. They are obviously in love, they hook up swearing it wont change their relationship. It screws everything up. They get back together, the end. It wasn't bad, it also wasn't anything out of the ordinary. The connection between Riley and Devyn is good but the story is quite simplistic and lacks depth. It is a quick easy read, enjoyable but not outstanding.

medium-paced
For full disclosure's sake, I didn't finish this book. I read the first few pages and already didn't think I was going to finish the book, but since I hate abandoning books, I kept going. I was determined to at least make if halfway because then I could say I really tried. I actually made it a bit further than halfway. For a while, I thought I might be able to make it, but I couldn't. There was one scene that had be immediately go, "Nope. Nope. No," and close the book for good.
It's hard to pinpoint what I hated about this book because I hated just about everything. I think the character's were the worst though. Riley is so obnoxious. He's more obnoxious at the beginning, but he never stops being obnoxious. It was hard to root for him when I couldn't stand him. Devyn wasn't that great either. She tended to mock other girls for things, which was frustrating. There was a lot of that in this book by every character actually. Everyone kept going on about how Devyn was different from other girls, and they all suck, but Devyn's great because...I don't really know why to be honest. Nothing about her stood out to me.
Aside from all of that, the plot wasn't really realistic. I knew what the story was going to be from the summary before reading the book. It's pretty obvious. But I have a hard time believing that Devyn actually called Riley that many times and then gave up or that Riley didn't pick up once. None of it made sense to me, and I pretty much spent time entirety of the book rolling my eyes.
I genuinely think this was the worst book I'd read in a while.
