REREAD 2024
I don't know why I felt so compelled to reread this book, but I did and I'm very glad I did. Even though it was one of my favourite books I read last year, I feel like I kind of forgot all the reasons why I actually love this book so much. So rereading it was just a whole lot of fun to me.
I absolutely adore Kai and Isabella. Their personal journeys throughout this book are so incredibly well done. I love how Kai's storyline feels a bit stereotypical for a billionaire in a billionaire romance, but the way it was executed just feels very fresh. Isabella's personal storyline is my absolute favourite though. I think it's a very relatable story for many, and also adds a more emotional note to this book. It's just extremely well done, in my opinion.
Of course, I also absolutely ADORE their romance. Honestly, my pet peeve is how they keep seeing they are "fundamentally incompatible" because I have never seen two people that are more made for each other so clearly. Yes, I guess they are opposites, but I feel like in their views on life they are kind of the same, and for the rest their opposite personality traits actually allow for them to fit perfectly together, rather than them budding heads constantly. I also quite like that they get together quite early on. That way we get to see them together, and have cute little dates, while their feelings are also still growing. I just thought it was all really well executed. What else am I supposed to say?
