I simply cannot get enough of these!

Also, Kai is a billionaire with a British accent. Need I say more? But really though, this was fun and cute and such an easy read! Kai and Isabella’s banter/dynamic was so entertaining. The world of the rich elite is also just so outlandish and exciting to be in too.

I also thoroughly enjoy the little crumbs of future books/characters/couples we get in each of her book, so I can’t wait to see what’s in store in the next one!

This book had so much potential, but it felt extremely flat to me. By potential I meant we had 2 great characters to reflect on. Kai being so smart and Isabella being so exuberant, it could look like a grumpy-sunshine trope but author chose to dig a little deeper which I enjoyed.

There are some relatable moments like-

Everyone here seems to know what they’re doing or at least what they want to be doing. They live for a purpose, not survival.”

“It’s funny,” Isabella said. “You want Kai to run a Fortune 500 company, yet you treat him like a child who can’t make his own decisions. How do you reconcile those two things?”

But they came out once in a blue moon and rest of all it felt like prose dumping of no action only words relating to the traits we were promised the characters had. Atleast I'm happy it didn't glorify toxic dynamic because both of them are very respectful to each other. All in all I'm meh about it including the spicy moments.

I always have a fun time reading Ana Huang's books, but my main issue with most of them is that they are so forgettable. I am writing this review almost two weeks after finishing this book and I already don't remember most of what happened. I don't know if it's because a lot of hers are very similar to each other or very similar to other books in the genre, but I don't feel like they have a lasting impression.

That being said, I had a fun time reading King of Pride. It wasn't anything special and it was extremely similar to what she's already done.

Kai and Isabella weren't my favorite couple either. I didn't feel the chemistry. It felt like they were together for aesthetics and whims.

I do have fun reading these books even when I don't necessarily enjoy them so I will still probably read the next installment.

This book had potential, maybe it was hard for me to get into Kai because I’m just coming off reading the twisted series and even king of wrath where these men were LETHAL. He was much gentle and boring at times so it was hard to really dig into it. I almost DNF this but it was very cute and fluffy.
