its hard to rate nonfiction for me and when I do I always aim to rate the writing and end goal rather than rate the people themselves, almost all nonfiction books, especially biographies or ones dealing with personal topics, are brave and beautiful in their intention. this one touched my heart a few times, but it felt like a script more than a literary work. the therapist was controversial, for lack of better words, in a few points. but overall it was nice and simple

I was inspired by how much the author opens up in this book.
I also thought it was really interesting to delve into the mind of someone who I don’t relate much to and to see how a different culture affects mental health.

It seemed like just a conversation between therapist and author. There was no depth to the author. Maybe something is just lost in translation.

Did not realize the book form, was not charmed by the writing style and I find the book lacks humor.

I wanted to love this but I found it really hard to get into. I didn’t find it uplifting either, but I liked the sound of the therapist

A great self reflection from a person experiencing Dysthymia on a long term basis. She (the author) has much to share to the everyday reader despite your emotional dispositions. Anyone is likely to find some commonality with her day to day struggles even if their not always as extreme.
