This book was about the LA Public Library, exclusively. She didn't deliver a book that "manages to tell the broader story of libraries and librarians in a way that has never been done before", she wrote about the LAPL. Which is fine! But don't advertise it as a book about libraries overall when it's just about YOUR library.

Increíble!!!

Un no ficción que nadie se puede perder. Trata, en principio, sobre el incendio de la Biblioteca Central de Los Ángeles, producido en 1986. Pero también es una carta de amor a las bibliotecas y a todas aquellas personas que las atraviesan en su vida.

Con corazón, personas que destacan, entrevistas interesantes, realmente este libro lo tiene todo. Cuando lo vi destacado entre los libros recomendados por Reese Witherspoon en su club de lectura, me llamó la atención primero el tema...pero después, no pude parar de leer.

Hermoso, llamativo, interesante. Si sienten que no se enganchan con la No Ficción es, quizás, porque nunca encontraron este libro.

I enjoyed this book! If you are interested in the intrigue of the controversy of the Los Angeles public library fire and trying to convict Harry Peak and intriguing other facts about libraries - then I feel you too will enjoy this book.

For instance - in Senegal - when you pass away they say your “library is closed.” I LOVE that phrase!
