I really tried. Desi high fantasy is not something you read everyday and I get that there might be tons of characters, settings etc., that needs to be absorb but if almost halfway and the slow burn ain't making sense... well. Have other books that needs my commitment and time

I just did not have the attention span required for all the world building and politics. What I did read was quite good and I will try to read this another time. Being a mood reader makes reading large, richly plotted books hit or miss.

I really enjoyed this dark desi inspired fantasy. It is unique in the way the characters feel, the magic system used and the clothing described whilst also having that epic fantasy feel that gripped me from the start. Gourav Mohanty is incredibly talented and the world in this book felt so real, and the characters so alive.

I didn't enjoy the narration, maybe I should do some research on the myth this is based on but it didn't grab my attention or make it exciting to understand.
