(this is cheating because i didn't finish this fully) i read the first four main stories and a few of the shorter ones but i couldn't find myself connecting enough with the writing style to keep going, though it did live up to my expectations of weirdness. the first one was by far my favourite

The first half of stories contained in this collection are pretty good, and I'd highly recommend them as examples of eldritch horror. The latter half were pretty dull, as they're just stories of artists living in Paris and just sort of going about their lives. I didn't feel that I got any real meaning out of them, but it may just be that "decadent fiction" isn't my jam. I really liked the first story "Repairer of Reputations" as well as "In the Court of the Dragon". The first is a slightly humorous unreliable narrator short and the latter is a very classic feeling sort of nightmarish gothic horror.
First 5 shorts rate at a range of 3-4 stars, but oof the other half felt like a 1-2.

The first few stories are great. The second half of the book is filled with much less interesting short stories.
We’ll never know what or who is the King in Yellow, but the damage has already been done. Just as Mr. Castaigne read the book in his convalescence, I read The King in Yellow during mine and now I must face the misfortune of having known the mysteries of the Yellow Sign... By the stony towers of Carcosa, by the black stars of the sky, by Hastur and the pale lake of Hali...
Excellent work by Editora Intrínseca, with excellent comments from the translator throughout the reading.

Fabulous despite being obviously outdated. The first three stories are amazing and I highly recommend them. The pieces afterwards, however, seem like they don’t fit in as they are less dark and more romantic. This is worth reading for the first story alone, however, as it’s absolutely stunning.
The Repairer of Reputations, The Mask and The Yellow Sign are the highlights, as well as the excerpts in the chapter headings. The rest of the stories range from okay to dull. All in all an okay short story collection. Would have rated it higher if it included only the essential Weird Fiction stories and the Prophet's Paradise.
An interesting read, as many of the stories is left open to interpretation and from the first story onwards a overwhelming sense of mystery. The last story was a but disappointing though and although the general weirdness was interesting, it also kept me wondering if I missed something important.
