A lot of scenes happened that I thought "...no, he wouldn't..." and then he did. Every time. Aron really has a way of writing things in a purposefully disgusting way while somehow making it seem important to the storyline. The vacuum hose scene is something I believe I will (unfortunately) remember in vivid detail for the rest of my life.
I loved the how it left TYG open-ended (and I hope there's more information on that in the sequel), and the ending twist is something that I genuinely didn't expect and still have no idea how it's even possible. Not as enjoyable plot-wise as Playground, but it's at the top of the most disgusting books I've read.
The slobs weight was the least of my worries throughout the book and the horrors he committed. That being said,
the fatphobia is something that is present throughout the entire book, and it really disappointed me. Writing a disgusting and creepy character is possible without constantly talking about his weight (for instance, the amount of pus in his infections was enough to make me gag)— Arons done it for so many other books of his, so I know he knows it. I read it despite the constant fatphobia throughout the book, which is in Vera’s pov (so perhaps the fatphobic comments are her own opinions), but it was a part in the book that i thought was completely useless and only compares fatness to disgust and low hygiene. Same with his small penis— oh what, he has a tiny dick??? okay, so what. now, the infections coming from his dick and dripping down, that DOES show how gross the slob was and how little he took care of himself.

So while reading I kept making note when she was making her way up to the house, like this is your sign to turn around and she just kept going all giddy about that one last sale. Money is not worth is and thank god we are able to carry guns because NOPE! Can’t be me.
if anyone has any book recommendations I am open to suggestions.
