This is a surprisingly good book from Michael Crichton. He moves away from his typical threads of explicitly reinforcing the innate goodness of republican america and distrust of science to doing it through heavy-handed metaphor.

Note that a surprisingly good book from michael crichton only gets two stars.

An interesting Crichton book. I probably would have given it 2 1/2 stars, but I did think it was an intriguing story.
