The beginning was a little repetitive but they are meeting every other Wednesday for sex in a hotel so there's only so much happening. The last chapters almost felt like a different book but maybe that's bc they aren't meeting in the hotel anymore. I went into this book with low expectations based on the cover (the cover feels like clip art for restaurant menus) and was surprised how much I enjoyed it. I like that they fell like normal people. He's successful and wealthy but they discuss him being average looking and her clothing and thin hair are relatable. The story is very surface level. My only major gripe is her one sided love affair with John. It was more limerance and felt immature and cringy.

First of all, this is not a light romance as I thought it would be. It definitely borders on erotica. I know that I have read books by this author before and I thought they were light. Maybe I'm wrong. Surprised me.

The first half of the book is pretty much just sex. Explicit sex. And I'm not a prude. Just was not expecting it. The second half saved my rating from falling too far below average. There was more conversation, more things happening besides just sex.

I felt this was just a very mediocre romance. Sorry. I've read a lot better.

The chapter before the epilogue felt like it was written by an entirely different person. The way it was told, I thought it was the epilogue. It was not. Odd.

3.5 stars rounded up to 4 stars.

I liked the book. I just loved the hero!!! I hated the fact that we didn’t get any POV from him. I am not sure about the heroine though!! Maybe that’s why I am cutting the stars. Well, no character is perfect, but still, I just dislike some of the things.

Safety Issue:
SpoilerLike her kissing someone else knowing that she was going to have sex with the hero maybe hours later. I know there is no commitment between them, but still. If we replace the heroine with the hero, what I am saying is in reverse situation, no way I would have liked it commitment or no commitment. But, I am glad that she was feeling guilty and told him about it. And she also broke things with the hero before dating the jackass. Forget to mention there was a brief make-out scene with that jackass. Well, another trigger we got a dead fiancé for our hero. He was in love with his ex when they first meet, but that didn’t last long. Well, my point is, his fiance was DEAD and no living OW drama, even he was celibate during the short separation time. He was no man-whore, a perfect gentleman type of sweet, charming and sexy kinda guy. So, yeah, I loved him. 💘💘💘

The writing was good. It’s not cliché, it feels real. Like- every billionaire doesn’t have to be typically handsome or they don’t have to do manicure types of things just because they are rich, even no bodyguards or paparazzi drama. And like every other lawyer the heroine doesn’t have to dress like a pro, (I am picturing Jessica and Donna’s wardrobes from Suits) her wardrobes can be boring.

I liked it just fine. I am rounding the stars because of the hero and the reality vibe.
