A knockoff novella reminiscent of Peter Straub’s Ghost Story. Not too shocking, not too scary, and not too surprising. Just okay in my book.

I really enjoyed this book, and the majority of the way through I thought this would be a 4 star read. I don’t know why the ending felt so unsatisfying, but it did, and that dropped a star for me. It was a great read though & I would recommend it if you’re looking for a spooky story.

Edit: after watching the film adaption, my rating is now 4 stars lol. I didn’t realise how much I liked this until I realised how much I disliked the film.
