I LOVED this book and Malachi Vize, there is definitely something wrong with me. He is obsessive, possessive, a selective mute, and a literal diagnosed psychopath (ASPD) who takes the touch-her-and-die trope to the extreme. Was it fucked up? Yes. Were there a few plot holes? Yes. Was I obsessed? HELL YES!!!

There is a laundry list of content warnings; a taboo relationship between foster siblings, sexual content, and violence among other things. Normally when I read trigger warnings I'm like “yeah yeah yeah whatever”, but some one the things in this book had me wide eyed and double taking that they actually happened 👀 This book contains the taboo of Credence and The Tearsmith, the smut and kinks of The Sinner (LORDS series), and the obsessive stalking of Haunting Adeline, but with a much darker, arguably morally-black, MMC. In other words, a combination of some of my favorite things! This is not your beginners guide to dark romance, if you don’t enjoy the nature of the previously mentioned reads then don't even think about coming near this book.

Now for the main drawback, this book was WAY too short at only 207 pages (digital) and had a rather rushed ending. I desperately needed it to be longer, and if it was, it would have undoubtedly earned a 5 ⭐ from me. On the bright side, the second part of the duet comes out in September!

Fucked Up! 🫣 This book will have you questioning yourself 🤣

This made Haunting Adeline look like child’s play. Something about a mute psychopath who some how is emotional, gets me. I appreciate the author adding his POV in part II adding to the tension & overall creepiness of these two.

Look there are seriously horrible & questionable acts in this book but the author some how made me forget them in the next scene. I disliked Olivia and her inner dialogue. Her sick sick sick sick repetition, words & choices frustrated me.

Malachi, Kai… ummm yeah… let’s just say they were made for each other

Listen I don’t even know. This is really not for everyone and I even had to skim read a part because that was a little to much for me, but other than that this was good. I thought the dynamic was interesting and not something I usually read. The stalker didn’t happen until like the second half of the book which I wasn’t expecting. Honestly if you don’t read dark romance do not read this and if you want to venture into dark romance don’t start with this. The list of content warnings at the beginning gagged me because spider play. I just reread the content warnings and I must of skipped past the warning of what I skim read( but it’s because that was her “dad”). The writing also wasn’t the greatest either.
