Man was this a short and fast read. I found this through looking up similar books to other books I had recently read on Goodreads. The synopsis seemed like something I would like as well. What I got was that this was about two individuals where one does something to the other and that person then comes back seeking revenge but like make it ✨ romantic and spicy ✨

There are trigger warnings so please look those up if you might have issues with the content…

Kinks:
Spoiler Anal, Somnophilia, Branding, Knife Play, Primal Play, Blood Play, Light Breeding, “Spider” Play, Chocking, CNC, DubCon, Drugging, Mask Play, Pain and Fear Play

I can’t say this book is amazing but it isn’t bad. I was invested up until the very end on what was happening. Do I agree with the ending? No. I think that this had a great set up and I wish the author had given the book more time to develop. With how short the book is, I feel like it made the FMC way to unlikable and the MMC more one-dimensional even if he was my favorite character.

The MMC is unhinged but I think he could have been way more unhinged if he was okay with doing some things but no others. I think the FMC could have been given a better characterization. I think she came off too unlikable and boring to read from. At times it seemed like she was the one that was making the MMC sick even though it should have been the other way around in my eyes.

The MMC having a disability was interesting and did give him something different. I don’t know if it was good representation but I think it fit with what the author was trying to create.

The part that really make it hard to love was the ending and the FMC. How could the parents be okay with what occurred? also the fact that both parents went through with doing these things to the FMC was just weird af. I felt like the concept came out of left field and left me confused. This is one thing that I think would have been better developed in a longer book.

I don’t know of anything that I’ve read or watched that is similar to this in any way. I think that maybe those quick fanfic oneshots you read sometimes are the closest vibe to this book but that is it.

Can’t say I would recommend this to anyone. It is a “forbidden/taboo” romance so I think anyone who is interested in that would like this but I don’t know anyone I would recommend this to.

I don't really have words, I don't know why I loved this so much or why Malachi is burned into my heart... But I loved it all the same
