Ed is awesome and I hope there is more about him in the rest of the series
About half the length of the other books, this was no less fun.

This book made me LAUGH constantly ya ok his name is Harry Potter uh huh because ... Jolee Ann Harmony you do not have security clearance to be in this area and your faults are being a sarcastic smartass haha
Really good, especially for a short piece that he didn't originally plan for the series.
The defeat of the monster was a disappointingly quick, but I much enjoyed the pace of this over the full length novels
A sort of side adventure for Odd Thomas, as he travels toward his fate, whatever that may be. In this short episode, he and Annamarie stop at a motel, and find a situation where an odd presence has taken over the minds of an extended family.
Of course Odd cannot leave them to their fate.
Aided by a 12 year old wise-ass genius girl, and an artificial intelligence named Ed, Odd fights for the lives of all concerned.
Odd is one of my all time favorite characters. I enjoyed this episode.

A short Odd Thomas adventure, but a good one. I read a review that said it didn't have much in the way of supernatural elements. I was surprised to discover quite a few basically supernatural elements in the novella. True, they weren't ghosties and goblins, but I would hardly call them either science fiction or realism.

Absolutely amazing as usual for Koontz! Excited to start reading part two immediately. The story was well told and the dialogue was hilarious. The characters were really intriguing and I’m in love with Odd but what’s new.
Dean Koontz's writing horribly annoys me, but Dean Koontz's writing also keeps me reading. I'd maybe give this 2.5 stars. It leans towards 3 for being entertaining, but falls towards 2 for, well, being typically over-explanatory, opinionated, & seemingly-egotistical. Also, at one point I felt pretty certain there was an error in the number of rounds shot from Odd's pistol, but a lack of Google evidence (and my being too lazy to go back and find it), makes me second guess myself. *Shrugs* I still plan on finishing the series at some point. I've come too far.
