Could be nostalgia glasses or could be that Terry Pratchett was hilarious and able to satirise an entire genre in 1 sentence. Jon Culshaw does a fantastic job narrating as well.

One in a million

Exceptionally good. It's most certainly my new favorite book. The plot is compelling, as are the characters. The humour is wonderful and I laughed out loud more than a few times. And the pacing was absolutely spot on. I can't wait to read more Discworld.

The problem with trying to pull quotes from Terry Pratchett is pretty much every line is quotable. So I suppose you'll just have to read the book yourself should you be curious.

You know, you read one of my Discworld reviews, you’ve read them all. This series is like a warm blanket and a bowl of Froot Loops. I laughed a lot, I cried a little. Give me a story where unlikely goofballs become heroes, love blossoms in unexpected places, and good triumphs over evil and I’ll fall for it hook, line, and sinker.

Four stars and

You read it... laugh and laugh (and people in the subway think you are mental for laughing on you own..) and then you reach the dialogue between Vimes and the patrician.. and you cannot believe that such a funny book can become even more awesome and include even philosophical dilemmas.
