with the exception of a number of passages that really resonated with me, i had a difficult time connecting with the narrator/narration style - it was a little too pretentious, even for me. and call me a pessimist, but i find it hard to believe that a short-lived (month or two long) high school relationship could have such a lasting impact on someone. it was still an enjoyable read, and it still made me Feel Things, but i don’t think it will stick with me long-term.

One of life’s greatest pleasures is to be moved by a book. It is privilege to be able to read this.
