This story starts out telling the young love story between Silas and his Ray (ray of sunshine). This is not the normal start to a teen romance. Both teens face the worst circumstances in their lives but find solace and love in each other. Everything between them looks hopeful until they are ripped apart from each other.
The second part of the book begins with Silas searching for the love of his life that he hasn't seen in 5 years. Silas has become a billionaire with his tech company that was created to help him find Alanna and he finally does. The only problem is she is now dating his brother.
Catharina Maura really pulls you into the drama and romance of the book. There are parts that are outrageous but she manages to convince the reader it's completely plausible for these things to be happening. The romance aspect of the second part did cause some frustration as a reader especially because we got to see them together and happy in the first part. But I think it was a great strategy to really make us connect with Silas and understand his frustration with the love of his life not trusting him.
Overall, this was a great book and one I would recommend to any lovers of romance and drama.

I've been meaning to read this for a long time and finally got to it!! Some of the things I wasn't expecting whilst others were predictable. I've been reading this authors books for some time and she does now how to write compelling stories. I think I couldn't connect fully because it felt a bit unbelievable. That aside I love this book, if you love a alpha hero, this is it!

I actually liked this book. There’s definitely stuff I didn’t like, but overall, I enjoyed the book.

Plot or Character Driven: Character
Strong character development: No
Loveable characters: Complicated
Diverse cast of characters: No
Flaws of characters a main focus: No

There’s a grooming component of the story that many will not like. The MMC met the FMC when she was about 13 and he was 18. They meet again when she’s 16, and he literally waits until she’s 18 to make his movie.

So cringey. Everything about it gives me the ick. I have a book goal and only a month left to reach it, otherwise it would have been a DNF..

‼️ I do just want to say the book is NOTHING like the description makes it out to be!
It is missing A HUGE piece of information and there is no cross over or betrayal.
I don’t want to spoil much but just know she was the MMCs first and the situation isn’t ANYTHING like what you’re thinking because i almost didn’t read it for that reason and the book description alone‼️

YALL let me tell yall about this MANNN omg.
This was another one of her series that I had practically read all of without realizing so again i’m going to work through this series since I just finished the last of the Windsors.

I would 100% recommend reading this book specifically before any of the Windsor’s books if you care about knowing who Silas is and his story because he plays such a HUGE role is every single one of the Windors books.

I don’t know what I was expecting from this book but I absolutely loved it, I was genuinely shocked at every single turn this book took. I couldn’t guess or predict a single thing that was going to happen because I was wrong every single time.
This book is just one of those books that is so well written in every aspect that it has you talking to yourself. I was kicking my feet, screaming NO, on the verge of tears. I went through the 7 stages of grief reading this book.

This book is LONG though it has about 83 chapters I think and that was CRAZY to me lol.
I got about 20 chapters in and I was giggling and smiling to myself because of how amazing and happy things were going. Everything was happy, I was happy, they were happy only to realize i was ONLY 20 chapters in and it can only get worse from there (it did)

I’m a sucker for this whole “we always find a way back to each other” type stuff this book had going on I ATE IT UP in “Say you swear” and I ATE IT UP IN THIS ONE.
Both Silas and Alanna deserve the whole entire world and I felt so bad for them the entire time and i’m glad we got to see more of their life together in the other books. I’m glad they are happy. They truly deserved that happy ending THEY WORKED FOR IT!

The only thing I DESPISED about this book was the FMC being with his brother I know it’s for plot and I KNOW SHE DIDNT KNOW and I know the brother didn’t know but i HATED IT. I FELT ICKY READING IT.

Overall my favorite in the series and probably my favorite from the Windors
