The Dare must be read before this one. All the characters are introduced.

This is a roller coaster journey… the smut is heavy and clearly not for everyone. Please read the TW.

Jessica is a really strong FMC with a need of freedom that is well described in every way possible.

This is a reverse harem.
Tortured Manson
Funny et free Vincent
Shy and sweet Jason
Scowl Jake
I love every one of them.

Oh how I live and breathe for this duet. Losers takes place a couple years following the events of The Dare, when Jess returns to her hometown post grad. Still determined to fit in, Jess ends up making poor decisions that lead to her owing a debt to four of the most notorious guys in town. But she ain’t mad at it. There’s so much to be said for the amount of communication, consent, and growth we see between all of these characters. Laroux is a master at delivering endless filthy smut with amazing plot and heartwarming characters. One of my top reads for 2023!

This was a good read - I didn't love it but I certainly enjoyed it. I'm a huge fan of Harley Laroux's books and The Dare is one of my favourites so I was really excited to read this. While I enjoyed it, what was lacking was the sexy anticipation that The Dare has. This was quite a predictable read with not much happening plot-wise. I'm hoping part two picks up on the plot department. But as a spicy read - it was great!

While I like the characters, I want to delve more into their backstories and wish Laroux was more descriptive over what they look like and why they act the way they do. I'm really struggling to picture them (something I don't usually struggle with).

One of my favourite things about Laroux's spicy read is how she depicts consent. There are so many dark/kinky romances that lean into the dub/non consent world of kink that really take liberties over consent (which I think is quite irresponsible in our current world with BookTok and lots of young romance readers). But Laroux writes it perfectly! ALL ROMANCE WRITERS SHOULD TAKE NOTE! I was expecting to be surprised by the spice in this book and I was - this was kinky AF!
