Such a great book. The ending was perfect. Cried so much while reading this. Ive read all the previous books and it was hard to say goodbye to all the characters. But couldnt have asked foe a better ending.

So midway through the book I realized it borrows from Star Wars.

Obi wan = Oromis
Han Solo = Toran
This wasn't so glaring in the earlier books but became a little glaring in this one.
That said the books was still very enjoyable and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

These are 849 pages that could have been 600 or even 500 if they were well addressed. Unfortunately the vast majority of this book is filled with chapters and unecessary stories that bring little to nothing to the reader and the plot overall. (Some examples: Eragon healing a baby's catlip, a Dwarf rolling a ball of mud, an unending trip through a storm, the descriptions of a jailer's nails, oh well..)
I liked some points though. One of which being the main plot up until the climax. I also liked that there was focus on some secondary characters like Roran, Angela and Nasuada because to me they are just as or more interesting than the protagonist but even these end up half accomplished exactly because there is so much junk in the story.
Unfortunately, it's in the great climax that the author proposed to sing that lies the ultimate problem for me.
For an adventure that took us 4 heavy chunky books to read through this was an underwhelming, unoriginal and rushed final battle. I actually had to go back and reread the chapter just to believe I had read what I just read and make sure I didn't miss something.
Galbatorix the big tyrannical and powerful villain, capable of desolating cities, who is the major reason that moves the protagonist, all the characters and the plot ever since the first book was demanding an epic and thundering battle, full of action, magic and plot twists, right? Wrong.. we got not even close to that and consequentely left me uninvested and uninterested for the remaining 200 (!!) pages of conclusion.
This is too big for containing too much junk and too small because that junk is ocupying space that could have been left for a worthy character development and ending of such an epic fantasy like this.
I'm sad that it ended like this but I suppose this is one of those cases in which the experience is worth more for the trip rather than the destination.

São 849 páginas que poderiam ser apenas 600 ou até mesmo 500 se fossem bem aproveitadas. Infelizmente a grande maioria do livro está cheia com capítulos e histórias desnecessárias que trazem pouco ou nada ao leitor e à história em geral (Alguns exemplos: Eragon a curar uma mal formação de uma bebé, um Anão a enrolar uma bola de lama, uma viagem infindável através de uma tempestade, a descrição das unhas de um carcereiro.. enfim.)
Gostei de vários pontos. Um deles sendo o enredo principal e a forma como seguiu até ao clímax. Gostei que houvesse destaque em certas personagens secundárias como o Roran, a Angela ou a Nasuada pois para mim são tão ou mais interessantes que o protagonista mas que também estas acabaram por ser pouco concretizadas exactamente for haver tanta palha no meio do livro. Infelizmente é no grande final que o autor se propõe a cantar que está o derradeiro problema. Para uma aventura que nos demorou 4 grossos livros a acompanhar este foi um final extremamente apressado, pouco original e decepcionante. Tive mesmo que voltar atrás e reler o capítulo, só para ter a certeza que tinha lido o que li e que não me estava a escapar algo.

Não, não foi isso, nem perto, o que obtivemos e que consequentemente me deixou totalmente desconsolado e desinvestido ao ler as restantes 200(!!) páginas desde o clímax até ao fim.
É demasiado grande por conter imensa tralha e consequentemente demasiado pequeno porque ocupa o espaço que devia ser cedido a um final e às personagens dignas de uma aventura de fantasia épica como esta.
