3.75 ⭐️ all that and no one even kissed in the end 😭 there were portions of this book that really dragged on in my opinion, I felt like we could have had at least 200 pages cut out of just battles that didn’t mean anything? The ending just fell a little short for me, we spent all this time afraid of some guy who didn’t really put up a fight in the big mega boss battle? Lame tbh! But I liked the way that the plot was wrapped up at the end and how all the different kinds of people were able to unite and ensure peace with one another, it was a very wholesome ending to a rather long and drawn out series. This was a good series, I wasn’t ever not entertained or engaged, it just was definitely written for boys and I fear I was not the target audience, but I overall enjoyed it and I’m glad I read it!

Fantastic book, excellent magic system, solid plot and unique characters. Anyone who claims otherwise is probably a miserable Karen who wants to hate the book before they have read it. I heard someone say it was predictable, but nah if you predicted that book your most likely a prophet.
I gave up on this book about a quarter of the way in because I just couldn't deal with it any more. I enjoyed Eragon and found Eldest to be boring in places but enjoyed it overall. Brisingr was where I got really bored but I decided to read the last book in the hope that it got better. It didn't. I no longer care about the characters and whether they live or die. I have also gotten bored of the long discriptions and unnecessary long descriptive scenes that keep appearing. If you really loved the other books in this series then you will probably enjoy this book alot more than I did but if you're on the fence, don't bother.

This book was a fitting end to the trilogy, but it was a bit of a drag on towards the end. Nevertheless, I loved the story. It tied up all loose ends, some that I'd even forgotten about. Excellent sense of closure.
I would have to say that this book was probably my second favorite next to Eragon itself. It took me less than 6 weeks to listen to this book on tape (which I know sounds long) but in comparison it took me 4 months for the third one and it took me 3 for the second book. I liked how fast paced this was and how it resolved a lot of things from other books. I enjoyed the different battle scenes that were involved and how different characters played a larger role in this book. I don't know if everything needed to be in the book as it made it extremely long, however, I am glad to finally have the series finished. I didn't think I would ever get to that point as I didn't have time to sit down and read all the books as they are so long, but listening to them was a great idea! I would suggest that to anyone who is trying to get through longer books-listen to them on cd or tape while you are driving, working, going to sleep, etc. It definitely helps the books move along quicker.
